Cycle Bank

A.    Objectives:
             1. To provide cycles to needy students who come to college from remote areas.
             2. To provide cycles to economically backward classes.
             3. To save energy and time of the students so that they may use it for their studies.
             4. To save their money.

B.    The context: 
             Our college is located in rural and drought prone area .The students come to college from remote villages
             which make them difficult to reach the college in time. Therefore college decided to provide cycles to
             needy students. College formed “Cycle Bank” of its own. Many stakeholders were convinced to donate 
             cycles for cycle bank. And college provides cycles to needy students from the college cycle bank.

C.    Practice: 
             First of all Cycle Bank Committee identify needy students. Then college gets undertaking by them. After that
             they are given cycles and asked to use properly. The students are asked to return the cycles in proper 
             condition at the end of the academic year.

D.    Evidences of success: 
             The students who used to remain absent, started coming to college regularly after obtaining cycles. It saved
             their time, money and energy.

E.     Problems: 
             1. The number of cycles is less as per students’ ratio. It is not possible to provide cycles to all needy  
                  students.
             2. Limitation of budget.
             3. Maintenance of the cycles
