Geography
The Department of Geography was established in 1973. At the early stage the department Prin. R. P. Walekar was the founder of the department. Department runs under graduate course for Bachelor of Arts and have two batches of 40 students for final year.
Department runs Tourism Short Term Course for enhance the knowledge of Marketing and Management of tourism and Skill based course Rainwater Harvesting to enhance the knowledge of Water conservation and its Management. Department also make innovative project of Rainwater Harvesting and Borewell recharge in college campus.
Department also take initiative to run Environmental studies all Discipline of Second Year Students, from the academic year 2005-2006. This is particularly to make the awareness among the students about environmental consciousness and encourage them to protect their environment for better and healthy future.
Department organizes Fieldwork, excursions, Industrial Visits, Project work regularly to encourage innovative and analytical approaches among the students. All colleagues strive hard to cultivate a research attitude amongst students through academic activities such as quizzes, debate, surveys, workshops, and conferences.
Currently, the department is well equipped laboratory with LCD projection system, Survey Instrument, a separate departmental library to provide students an effective learning environment. Students take initiative to display the local daily weather report on common Notice board, The department also encourages and facilitates scholars to follow their career in higher studies and academic integrity in the field of geography.
