About Department of
Microbiology
The Department of Microbiology has been established in 2016 to offer B. Sc. in Microbiology. The Department was launched B.Sc.-I course in 2016 and B.Sc. II course in 2017 under Shivaji University, Kolhapur. The department has all necessary facilities like well-equipped laboratories.
The department is dedicated to educate the students through various curricular, co-curricular and extracurricular activities. The Department runs Short Term Course in “Microbial Analysis and safety of Food” And “Food Processing and Packaging” to provide plenty of opportunities to the students to continue professional development in food, Dairy and pharmaceutical industries.
Microbiology plays an important role in both natural systems and our daily lives. The concepts of the health sciences, life sciences, and environment are made clear to the students and this creates a strong foundation for the various postgraduate studies.
