About Department of
Physics
Department of physics started from 1985 in Dahiwadi College Dahiwadi. Physics is one of the
most fundamental scientific disciplines, and its main goal is to understand how the universe
behaves. Various undergraduate course such as BSc-I, BSc-II and BSc-III runs under the
department. The research growth in Physics from 2022-21 and 2021-22 department of Physics
faculty Dr. V. B. Mamlayya written two books and bagged more than 4 patents in national as
well international level. In addition to this department of Physics runs certified short term and
skill courses.
This department has well equipped specious laboratories. For science stream common facility
centre is available. There is departmental library enriched with books as well as provided online
video lectures. Frequent departmental meets were organized for upgradation of all classes
performance as well extra -curricular activities awareness amongst students through
department. Regarding Astronomy department organizes webinars and night sky observation
programmes.
Department organizes various students-oriented activities like such as poster presentations,
seminar, workshops, webinar, field visit, elocution competition, essay writing, projects,
blended learning activity for overall development of students. Moreover, department conducts
continuous internal assessment such as home assignments, unit tests, practice tests, internal
examination, mid-term examinations, projects, oral exam etc for academic progression of
students.
For the students, department of Physics specially organizes induction programmes regarding
syllabus and career counselling seminars. The students graduated from Physics reflects good
ratio for progression to higher education and placed in well recognized private and government
sector
