| Objective of the Course
|
- To create awareness among students, tethers, farmers about green chemistry in crop -protection.
- To train the students to use to eco-friendly approaches in synthesizing agro-based chemicals viz. insecticides, fungicides, herbibides, bactericides,
acaricides, weedicides.
- To train the studednts to identify the crop diseases, insects pests in the local
area.
- To guide the students to undertake survey on insecticides, pesticides, weedicides,
which are being used by farmers to control diseases & pests.
- To emphasize green chemistry approach in the crop protection which helps to
reduce global warming.
- Green cheistry approach in crop protection is an emerging field having tremen-
dous opportunities in research field. This also certainly offer versatile benefits to
the teachers, students & society. especially farmers.

An important feature of the course is the periodical holding of seminars and group
discussion, which provide opportunities to the students for debating, articulation
and collective thinking Besides, the students also have opportunities to participate
in seminars, workshops and short term course conducted by various well known
institutes from time to time.

| FIELD WORK
|
| Opportunities will be provided to the students to visit, observe and study the working of a
vanety of institutions where work is going on in relation to green chemis-
try. The field visits to study plant diseases, insects pests etc. will be also organized frequently.
